ABC Book Club has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with Holbeach Primary in the heart of Catford since their first book donation back in 2018.
After proudly partnering with the school to launch their outdoor sensory library back in January 2020, the pandemic hit in March, which meant that the school barely had a chance to use the space before having to close just weeks later.
Many books were given to the pupils to enjoy at home during the lockdown, which left the shelves of the bookcases looking a little bare.
Assistant Headteacher Karen Robertson was delighted when ABC offered to relaunch the space in May 2022 with a selection of newly donated books. ABC also enlisted the help of Tales on Moon Lane, a local independent bookstore, to provide a collection of inclusive books reflecting the school community.
Whimsical storyteller George from London Dreamtime wowed the children with his tales of colourful snakes and tall, tall houses, and Holbeach Primary were thrilled to have their outdoor reading space back once more.
