Damien Egan, The Mayor of Lewisham, has been a friend of ABC since he opened our very first library project back in 2018 at St Saviour’s School. His 2021 Winter Appeal offered families in need access to food, gifts and treats at a time of year when they need it most.
Various local businesses generously donated hundreds of items and a team of volunteers put together food parcels and present bags to be distributed to families throughout the borough.
ABC delivered over 1,000 pre-loved books to the Lewisham Community Hub where they were shared out alongside the donations. We supplemented our donation with over 50 brand new books sourced from a local bookshop Tales on Moon Lane in Herne Hill which celebrate the diversity within the community.
We are very proud to have been asked to be a part of such a worthwhile cause.
