When Holy Family primary school closed its doors for the last time in July, its brand new ABC library couldn't be left inside languishing! We repurposed all the bookcases, rugs, chairs, blankets, books, cushions and decorative window screens to make a brand new library at Watergate SEND school.
The only area this special school had for a library was a corner of a corridor which wasn't really a library, more of an area with some bookcases.
The literacy lead had a vision for the space and with ABC's help transformed and zoned the area so that the children have somewhere beautiful to call a dedicated reading hub.
With a specially designed sign, and some clever re-use of materials, the once neglected corner is now vibrant and inviting.
We're so glad we were able to put Holy Family's library to good use to be loved again.
